Full research notes, including what could not be confirmed

PA.gov driver's license Testing page (exam format: 18 questions, 15 correct to pass, unified pool with signs mixed in — no separate sign-recognition section); the official PA Driver's Manual (headlight/high-beam rules, no-passing line conventions, school bus stop law and divided-highway exception, stopping-distance and night-speed guidance, hill parking, no-parking distances, bicyclist/sidewalk/helmet rules, funeral processions, roundabouts, child restraint age/seat progression, and the manual's own DUI review answer key); 75 Pa.C.S. §1535's statutory point schedule (points table in this module is a representative subset of the full schedule, not exhaustive); §3736 (reckless driving) and §3714(a) (careless driving); §3802(e) (under-21 zero tolerance); §3345(a) and §1535 (school bus stop penalty); §4581 (seat belt/child-restraint penalties); PennDOT's 'Steer Clear' Move Over law page; and PennDOT's Paul Miller's Law announcements (signed 2024, effective June 5, 2025, warnings-only for one year, $50 fine + court costs starting June 5, 2026) — researched and verified 2026-08-18. Mock config uses the exact fraction rulePassPct: 15/18 (not a rounded 0.8) so Math.ceil(18 * rulePassPct) evaluates to exactly 15, matching the real exam's 15-of-18 passing threshold. Known gaps deliberately worked around rather than invented: the officially-cited 'reckless driving' 5-point/6-month-suspension figure some secondary sites use does NOT appear under that label in the official §1535 points schedule — this module uses the confirmed §3736 penalty ($200 fine + 6-month suspension) under the speed category instead, and keeps Careless Driving's separately-confirmed 3-point value under points, without conflating the two. PA does not appear to use a red/yellow/white curb-color convention (unconfirmed in any official source), so no curb-color questions are included. The PA manual gives only one general hill-parking rule (wheels turned completely right) with no confirmed uphill/downhill split like some other states use. Junior-license curfew (11pm-5am) and passenger-restriction figures are corroborated by secondary sources; the official PennDOT FS-WY PDF failed to parse as text during research and should get one more direct check before treating those figures as fully primary-sourced. The 500-foot emergency-vehicle following distance (§3327) is secondary-sourced and should also get a direct statute check. 'Back seat mandatory under 13' reads as a safety recommendation, not confirmed statutory law, and is intentionally omitted as a hard-rule question. Truck/bus no-zone blind-spot footage figures are not published in a PA-specific source and are also omitted rather than borrowed from another state. Re-verify periodically, as PennDOT manuals, fees, and point thresholds change over time.
