Take a free, untimed Arizona DMV practice test in the real exam format: 30 questions, 24 correct to pass. Fresh random questions every attempt.
The Arizona knowledge test is a single 30-question exam covering road signs and the rules of the road together. You need 24 correct (80%) to pass.
Answer: The vehicle on the road that ends at the intersection
At an unsigned T-intersection, the vehicle on the road that ends (terminates) must yield to traffic on the continuing cross street.
Right-of-Way
Answer: No turn in that direction is permitted
A red arrow prohibits turning in that direction.
Signals
Answer: 8 points
Arizona's point table assigns 8 points — the maximum — to DUI, Extreme DUI, reckless driving, racing, aggressive driving, and aggravated DUI convictions alike.
AZ Point System
Answer: Stop only long enough to pick up or drop off passengers
A white curb allows stopping only long enough to pick up or drop off passengers.
Parking Rules
Answer: Age 5
Arizona requires a child restraint system for any child under age 5, regardless of weight — a purely age-based rule.
Child Passenger Safety
Answer: The vehicle on the left yields to the vehicle on the right
At an uncontrolled intersection with simultaneous arrival, the vehicle on the left must yield to the vehicle on the right — the same rule applied to a dead traffic signal.
Right-of-Way
Answer: The signal is about to turn red — stop if you have not yet entered the intersection
A yellow arrow warns that the signal is about to turn red; stop if you haven't yet entered the intersection.
Signals
Answer: 6 points
Leaving the scene of a crash adds 6 points.

Questions and exam format researched against Arizona's official driver handbook and state sources. Last verified 22 August 2026.
Arizona Driver License Manual and Customer Service Guide (ADOT MVD, Revised March 2026, apps.azdot.gov) and Arizona Revised Statutes (azleg.gov: A.R.S. 28-701.02 excessive speeding, 28-775 Move Over, 28-909 seat belts, 28-914 handheld phone, 28-907 child restraint, 4-244(34) under-21 zero tolerance) — researched and verified 2026-08-18. Exam format caveat: ADOT officially confirms only an 80% passing score; no official question count for the real (non-practice) knowledge test is published anywhere on an official AZ source — only ADOT's own official practice tests (30 and 35 questions) exist as a proxy, so this module uses signCount: 0, ruleCount: 35, rulePassPct: 0.80 as a proxy figure, not a confirmed real exam length. Re-verification attempted again 2026-08-20 (azdot.gov driver-services and MVD subpages fetched directly) again turned up no official question-count figure, consistent with the original finding. Several statute citations (28-701.02, 28-909, 28-914, 28-907) were retrieved via an AI-summarized fetch rather than raw statute text — figures are internally consistent and cross-checked against the manual, but treat with light caution and re-verify against azleg.gov directly if precision matters. Known gaps deliberately NOT invented: truck/bus no-zone footage figures (only a qualitative mention found); distance-from-fire-station parking rule (no AZ rule found, unlike some other states); driveway/private-road right-of-way statute language (no explicit AZ statement found beyond general right-of-way principles); lane-control (reversible-lane) signal appearance (AZ's manual only discusses double-dashed-yellow reversible lane markings, no overhead signal description); a rear-facing/forward-facing car-seat age-or-weight split (AZ's statute doesn't legislate one, deferring to each seat's own federal certification); ADOT-published distracted-driving statistics (none found). CONTENT AUDIT 2026-08-20: former r73 (teen) was removed rather than replaced — it tested whether the manual specifies a classroom/behind-the-wheel hour count for driver-ed programs (a fact about the manual's own coverage, not a driving/traffic-law fact), and this session could not reach a live official AZ source to source a genuine replacement teen-category fact for that same sub-topic; the teen category still carries 13 well-sourced questions. EXAM FORMAT CORRECTED 2026-08-22: ruleCount was 35, unsupported. azdot.gov/mvd/services/driver-license-ID/permit-test states 'The written test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions.' and 'A score of 80% or higher is required to pass the actual test.' ruleCount is now 30; ceil(30 x 0.8) = 24. No separate sign section. Re-verify periodically, as ADOT manual content, fees, and statutory thresholds change over time.
