PermitPasser is a free study tool for people preparing for a driver’s permit knowledge test. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.
PermitPasser runs entirely in your browser. There is no login, no user database, and no backend server that your study activity is sent to. Your practice progress — which questions you’ve answered, your streak, your theme preference — is saved only in your browser’s local storage, on your own device.
We don’t collect names, email addresses, or any other personal information just from using the app. We don’t use tracking cookies, and apart from the one analytics script described below, we load nothing from any third-party server — even the app’s fonts are hosted on our own domain. Nothing here profiles you or follows you to other websites.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles the ordinary details every web server must receive in order to send you a page: your network (IP) address, which page was requested, the time, the referring page, and your browser’s user-agent string. Cloudflare summarises these into aggregate counts — page views, approximate visitor numbers, and country — which we use to understand which pages people actually find useful. We see these only as totals in a dashboard, never as individual visitor records.
Each page also loads Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script that reports the page you viewed, how long it took to load, your browser type, and your approximate country. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, doesn’t fingerprint you, and doesn’t track you across other websites. It tells us how many real people use each page — we only ever see aggregate totals. Your study progress and answers are never sent anywhere. Blocking the script (for example with a content blocker) doesn’t affect the app at all.
If we ever add advertising or any other analytics, we’ll update this page first, describe exactly what’s added and why, and provide any consent controls required for your region before it goes live.
Clearing your browser’s site data for this page deletes your saved progress completely — we have no copy of it anywhere else to restore. If your browser blocks local storage (for example, private browsing mode), the app still works, but nothing will be saved between visits.
PermitPasser is usable by anyone studying for a permit test, regardless of age. Because we don’t collect personal information from any visitor, we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children either.
